To keep HD Radio\u00ae<\/strong> and FM<\/strong> properly aligned, both parts of the signal chain need to stay in sync throughout transport and distribution. As broadcast infrastructures continue to move toward IP-based workflows, that challenge becomes more important and more complex.<\/p>\n

2wcom\u2019s new solution addresses this by combining the HD Radio\u00ae E2X<\/strong> signal and an analog or digital MPX<\/strong> signal into one synchronized transport stream<\/strong>. Instead of managing separate paths for HD and FM, broadcasters can transport both together in lockstep.<\/p>\n

This brings clear practical advantages. It helps maintain precise HD\/FM timing, simplifies hybrid radio distribution, and improves reliability across IP networks. At the same time, the solution is designed to fit into existing infrastructures, with compatibility for Gen3 environments<\/strong> and support for analog or digital MPX<\/strong> workflows.<\/p>\n

The new transport solution also supports flexible MPX transport options. Broadcasters can work with uncompressed MPX<\/strong> in the range of 1.5 to 6.1 Mbit\/s<\/strong> or use compressed MPX at 320 kbit\/s<\/strong> with aptMPX<\/strong> or \u00b5MPX<\/strong>, depending on network requirements. High-precision timing via GPS \/ 1PPS<\/strong> ensures alignment between HD and FM, while the stated FM accuracy is suitable for SFN operation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For modern IP-based distribution, resilience is another key benefit. According to the product text, E2X<\/strong> can be protected with mechanisms such as SRT<\/strong>, Dual Flow redundancy<\/strong>, and other resilient transport technologies, supporting reliable delivery across real-world networks.<\/p>\n
