Overview

This product is an n+1 switch for RDS signals and 19 kHz pilot signals. The switch can be fed with the RDS signals of up to 3 encoders and the pilot signal of the backup transmitter. Upon failure of a transmitter, the RDS signal is rerouted to the backup and correct pilot sync sent to the Encoder. Additionally, the RDS-Switch can command the encoder to change reference tables to adjust output phase and level.

Function

The RDS-Switch detects transmitter failure at its switching inputs. Then it switches the pilot signal of the backup transmitter to the active Encoder and re-routes the RDS output to the backup transmitter. At the "RDS-Switch", switching relays are used to command the sync-input and reference tables of the Encoder.
