1000 RDS encoders shipped to Florida, USA
Flensburg/Germany, November 24, 1999. By today, the 2wcom GmbH (former Wireless World GmbH Communication, WWCom) delivered 1000 RDS encoders to Terion Inc., Melbourne, Florida. RDS encoders will be installed at FM transmitters to enable data transmission on FM frequencies by means of the Radio Data System (RDS).

2wcom is involved in RDS technique and development for more than 5 years. Rohde & Schwarz has appointed 2wcom as the authorized service partner to support and service all customers requirements regarding RDS technique world wide. In addition to a full featured RDS encoder, 2wcom has developed special RDS components to meet various customer demands.
The 19", 2-unit-height system ordered by Terion includes a RDS encoder, a RDS decoder, a single-board PC, a modem and a power supply. Thus the unit can be accessed remotely; by the integrated single-board PC customized software can be loaded.
In addition 2wcom set up various systems and application to manage and control RDS data flow to and from transmitters as well as end-customer units to receive and evaluate data of various kinds.
