Overview
The new RD10 RDS receiver with integrated decoder is small and will work with 3 V to 12 V (<40 mA) so it can go almost anywhere.
It comes in Serial and USB versions and software is included. In addition to the USB/Serial output it also has a set of dry relay contacts that can be triggered over the air.
Applications
The RD10 RDS Decoder family is designed for controlling remote assets.
Electronic billboards can be updated by sending special RDS data. Other devices such as floodlights can be activated by switching a relay contact.
See the RD10 pin assignments to learn more about the wide range of possible application.
Control software RD10Config
To start up the RD10 at first the device must be configured with PC software RD10Config by setting up tuning frequency and MPX source.
RDS SoftDecoder
The RDS SoftDecoder program allows to see the actual decoded RDS data currently on air. The RD10 transmits the raw group data and those are being decoded by the software. Besides the standard RDS data (PI, PS, RadioText, AF lists, EON etc.) the SoftDecoder does now even support TMC (you can see the TMC messages as plain text) and the new RT+.
