Emergency (Early) Warning System

50.000 receivers have been delivered to the Swedish Rescue Services

2wcom manufactured and delivered 50.000 FM RDS-Emergency Warning Receiver to Räddnings Verket (Swedish Rescue Services Agency) in Sweden. The Early-Warning- Receiver are being distributed to the public around a nuclear power plant in the south of Sweden near Barsebäck / Malmö. The first actual test of the Emergency Warning System was carried out on 2nd of July 2003. It turned out to the complete satisfaction of Räddnings Verket.

The main target is to distribute the Early-Warning Receiver for free to the public living around nuclear power plants in Sweden, but later on it might be extended in respect of chemical plants etc. as well.

The Multi-Hazard FM-RDS Public Early Warning Receiver is equipped with a double tuner-concept, a large LC-Display and a rechargeable battery pack to make sure the equipment will work for at least 48 hours in case of power failure.
