The responsibility of 2wcom in the North Sea Monitoring Project is the fast and effective distribution of the warning message to the public.

RäddningsVerket, the Swedish Rescue Services Agency was carrying out a survey to find out the best media for public warning.

The result did prove – FM-RDS-Broadcast via radio is the best solution available to distribute the warning if time is critical.

Overview

The fast acquisition of a disaster, the evaluation and the immediate transfer of the warning to the public in time is the big challenge. The latter did prove during follow-up examination of any disaster happened in the past to be always the so called “bottle neck“ problem.

In case of power loss it is guaranteed to receive a warning in "standby" within the time of 60 hours.

  The system can be used every day to forward the information received from the sensors in the ocean for commercial use as well, e.g. tourism, information for surfer in respect of actual wind- and wave data, hotels chains, fishing industry etc. This will be a significant contribution to keep the running cost low of the system and to test the system in total every day continuously to be sure it does work properly.
• If we are allowed to have access to the power amplifier of a Mosque we can use it as well to cover wide areas very cost-effective.
• Even in regions without power we do have a solution ready based on solar energy.
• Remote control automatically - controlling of emergency light systems, traffic warning, transportation systems, power plants, gas supply, flood barrage / river barrier, stopping trains etc.
